Injection recipes

Good old British Beef, you can't beat it! Of course Brisket is the American BBQ favorite but recipes for any cut are welcome here.

Injection recipes

Hi all, I have been lucky enough to have been given a 10lb brisket for Father's Day.
My question is, has anyone got a good fool proof injection recipe.

Many thanks
John

Good question. Looking forward to answers.

Have read about using mixes of BBQ sauce with beer, broth and even bourbon.

I don't have experience or specific details though

I always use a tin of beef consomme (usually baxters as thats all I can find) mixed with 1 tsp garlic powder and 1tsp onion power

Rubbed with chunky pepper and salt.

I like to keep it simple :)

Nom Nom thanks for the reply. Do you inject the night before or just before you smoke.i read a lot of conflicting methods.

Cheers

Sorry John, ive only just seen this.

Yes, ive seen mixed advice. I usually inject an hour or so before. I havnt ever tried overnight.

I did try injecting pork shoulder the night before once and it did seem to make the pork quite 'hammy' so havnt done it again!

I did an 8kg silverside from makro 2 weeks ago, injected with 2 Knorr Beef Stock Pots in a little boiling water then cooled with a can of Hobgoblin. Injected 3/4 into the beef while the smoker was warming to 225f, smoked for 12 hours then foiled with the remaining injection liquid for a further 2 hours. Everyone loved it, pulled like pork shoulder.
