Excellent, post up some pictures when you've done it

How about this as an idea, get a chimney starter and a cast iron grill and Vwallah, an awesome steak grilling machine ;)

I tried that a few years back when I thought I was being clever, somehow it didn't work too well, ended up like trying to cook for in a jet engine

Pretty much bang on out of the box, within 5 degF to my thermapen. It's a BGE branded Tel-Tru gauge which you can buy from BGE UK, other bonus is you can calibrate it too

BigM is this for your grey ceramic? Stop mucking about with the thermometer and get a fire in it!

BTW I bought a BBQ dial thermomter off ebay for about £2.50, including shipping from hong kong. It arrived about 2 months later and is just as accurate as my 60 quid tel tru. Doesn't look quite so nice though :)
