I'm using sainsburies unsmoked streaky bacon and it's really short. Oh well, it's just gone on. Hopefully timed well for dinner

Just done a Fattie at the weekend for a BBQ with 500gms Beef mince meat (not lean from Lidl) and 500gms (6 links) of pork sausage meat. Mush together with salt, pepper and other spices to taste. Filling was sauteed mushrooms & onions topped with Mozzarella cheese androlled and covered with the ubiquitous platted streaky smokey bacon, superb :D

My favourite is simple. Sausage meat wrapped around a long black pudding, with bacon wrapped around the whole thing.

Great sliced hot, straight off the grill; or the next day, eat cold, or slice and fry up.

Spinach & Feta Fatty from a couple of weekends ago.

I used pork mince* mixed with a bit of rub & fresh oregano. Filling = sauted onion + frozen spinach, defrosted & squeezed dry with feta cubes and more fresh oregano + S&P.

One guest even preferred this to the wings, pulled pork and ribs!

*You can see from the juices on the chopping board that it's not at all dry.

I have to say the one I made a while ago was incredible. Was my first one and was literally stunned at how good it was.

I too suffered from short bacon though. Lol. Can anyone recommend a long brand?

Hi

I just platted 2 lots side by side and overlapping one side slightly and it stuck to the fatty really well you wouldn't know they were " 2 mats" done from short streaky :D

I thought about extending it but just overlapping might be easier. [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Thanks Chris__M :D

essexsmoker - I generally use Lidl streaky if I can and it usually does the trick. Short bacon can also be lengthened by scraping along the length with a knife
