Can confirm that Jacobs are the same as Shorties, would highly recommend giving them a go. I prefer to get them chopped individually allows more surface area for the rub and smoke and reduces cooking time.
Apologies going a little off piste here, but what are baby back known as in the UK, and am I correct in thinking that they are just a normal rib rack with the bottom part (containing all the cartilage) sawn off?
They are loin ribs - but usually not sold here as the loins are sold as chops.
You can get frozen ones though, but not as much meat on them as you get in the USA. Meatpacks apparently sell nice frozen ones, and booker sell passable ones too.
