Pre Cooked Ribs

Postby From The Sauce » 11 Jan 2012, 09:53

Hi Guys,
I am after some advice. For my own use I want to pre-cook ribs so when I get home I can pull them out of the fridge/ freezer and heat them up in the oven.
What are people experiences of pre-cooked ribs - are they ok to re-heat.
My initial thoughts are to cook them to within about 30mins of what I normally would, freeze them and then defrost and cook for the remain 30mins when I want them. I presume though I wont be able to get the tenderness correct but the flavor should remain?

I welcome your thoughts.

In my limited experience I would stop cooking them a while before that maybe an hour, bearing in mind they will still carry on cooking and I wouldn't accelerate the cooling just let them come down to room temp before chilling & freezing. Hope this helps
