Bring on the fire!

Hi All,
I'm Dave, live in Aylesbury (so if you see huge plumes of smoke rising over Buckinghamshire you know it's me trying something new!).
I've got a Weber One Touch original, it's all the wife would let me buy so I need to make myself look like a grilling god with this!
So far the food has been 'average' but the charcoal briqs have gone out after two loads of burgers? might be using burgers that are too fatty?
Anyways I am looking for a new hobby and since this combines food, fire and beer I think it's the one for me!
Also as i'm a complete BBQ NOOB any tips or advice would be great
