Sainsburys Roaster to Rib Rack £3.00!

Postby Deano » 06 Jun 2014, 17:21

Bought this from Sainsburys for £3.00, thought it would be worth chopping it up into a rib rack, My initial plan was to cut out the middle spans of the base, then I thought I would cut in themiddle and bend the legs, in the end as I was bending it the weld came apart anyway!! The spaces are a little tight when I tried the frozen ribs I have, but I figure the ribs will give a bit more when defrosted. Not bad for £3.00 though

Hi Deano,

I picked one up on Sunday. I haven't modded it yet. Have you tried ribs in it yet? Spare maybe a challenge but Baby Backs should be alright?

Yes I've used it, spare ribs were tight in it, it also left them flopping a bit (although bear in mind these were not trimmed St Louis, rather full ones) which made it hard for me to baste both sides easily when there were two of them.

I thought I had a picture of it in use, but can't find one at the moment. It is ok, but I think I'll end up with a proper one at some point TBH.
