I know these have been talked about in the past and they look great but difficult to get hold of.

Now i've seen someone in the UK is now selling them and has stock, and quite a decent price. I've also spoken to them and they'll be looking to import more BBQ products soon.

They seem receptive to other import suggestions, so worth compiling a wish list maybe?

Off the top of my head, the Smokenator comes up from time to time, and Kingsford Briquettes are mentioned quite often, too.

I bought a set of GrillGrates for my Kamado, but was curious how they would work on my pellet grill.

I've read of them being used in various ways on such a grill - conventionally, just placing them on top of the normal grate; or placing it on top of the drip tray (for more direct heat). However, I threw caution to the wind, removed both the heat deflector and the drip tray, then replaced the grate, with the GrillGrates on top.

This meant the GrillGrates were getting direct flame from the firebox, at the risk of a little grease dropping through. I wouldn't do a long cook like this, but for a couple of steaks or hamburgers, I thought it wouldn't do any harm.

The result - a really nice hamburger, juicy, and with good grill marks. No mess that I can see underneath, at all - it looks like any grease hitting the GrillGrates didn't last long enough to drip.

Thanks for the link - I tried contacting them (GG) about this via twitter but no response.
