Noobie smoker on its way

Postby Ady » 12 May 2011, 01:21

Hi all,
This is my first smoker and a cheap one at that, i hope it will be upto the job although i'm worried it was a little too cheap at £40. (from e-bay not that shop)

Got my fingers crossed it can get upto and hold a good temp, anyone used one of these?

Can't say I've ever used one of those.

Looking at the design, I'd say the biggest potential pitfall is that it appears to be an open bottom design which means there's no way to control ariflow. However if my memory serves me correctly I've seen something somewhere about modding a very similar cooker (the ProQ Amigo) to have bottom vents so if you have temperature problems you can probably mod the cooker to resolve them.

You're only going to know for sure when you fire it up and for all I know it may be great. If not there's plenty of us on here who'll be able to assist with ideas for mods :D
