My New Smoker

Postby JEC » 29 May 2011, 19:15

Well after 18 months of changing my mind I finally bought my 47cm Weber Smokey Mountain, got it home after buying from Planet Barbecue, their shop is only 10 miles from my house and David gave me a really good deal

Boxed and ready to unpacked :D

Built and ready for test run

Disaster, noticed the enamel on the lip that the lid sits on is defective, you may have too look closely!

Quick email to a contact I have at Weber and this arrived

A middle section along with brackets, and the best bit I got to keep the slightly damaged one, which I can either build my own monster WSM from of drill for a temperature probe for those longer cooks without worrying about my warranty, excellent customer service from a trusted brand.

I had a similar problem with my lid. Likewise they were excellent at sorting it out.

You can now drill the old one for probe holes lol.

Congrats on an awesome smoker.
