We were asked to put on a weekend of BBQ competitions at Cartmel Racecourse in the Lake District. It was a beautiful location and had about 15,000 people visiting over the weekend, over 50 competitiors took part in Ready Steady Q and Kids Q. We also discovered the French's Pitmasters series champion, Bar B Q Shack who will once again represent the UK at the jack Daniels invitational in October. Congratulations to Slap Yo Daddy BBQ for their GC and BAr B Q Shack for their RGC

Everyone's got to start somewhere, i only started at Mayhem in May in 2011 and was lucky enough to place first time out and then in my second contest i won brisket got 2nd in pork & got 3rd in chicken (admittedly my ribs were dead last).
But also look at Team Smoking Penguin, they only started this year. They've won dessert twice, placed in ribs and had some other great results.
but as i said earlier, everyone's got to start somewhere
