IBQN PItMasters Sanctioned Events 2012

Just sent this email out to competitive teams, if anyone would like more info please let me know.

Good morning teams past, present and future,

IBQN are currently sanctioning two PitMasters competitions in 2013, this will increase during the year but thought it prudent to send out information on these two now to avoid disappointment. British Jack Daniels place will be decided over any two rounds until 30th July 2013 where the champion will be announced. For example, compete in both of these events and mess up in one, you will get the opportunity to improve your score at another IBQN event.

4th & 5th May
Location, Minley Nursery, Spoil Lane, Tongham, Surrey, GU10 1BP
Standard PitMAsters event. For those that haven’t attended before this is an ideal event to break your cherry. It is closed to all bar the teams, their family and friends and members of the forum. This is a social weekend which allows you to ask questions of other experienced teams and give those that have practised over the winter the opportunity to test their new rubs and sauces. As always Judges will give out tasting notes to teams after the event. Many teams turn up on the Friday and some stay Sunday night making the most of the bank holiday weekend.
Team entry £50
Meat Box available at cost £100
Electric and water on site including showers.

8th & 9th of June
Organiser – Brandshatch
Contest Name – Americana Q
Overlooking the track at Brandshatch during their American Race weekend this competition takes place over two full days under IBQN rules and regulations. With live music, funfair and a full race weekend attracting approximately 15,000 per day this is a great opportunity for teams to promote their sponsors or own product ranges, On behalf of the teams IBQN negotiated the following.

Team Entry £50
Brands Hatch will provide each team with competition meat for the 4 main categories, Ribs, Chicken, Brisket and Pork.

Teams are able to sell merchandise on behalf of the sponsors and give away small samples of the food they cook over the weekend.

Competition categories would be as follow, times will be confirmed for each day. All categories are mandatory but the main 4, ribs, chicken, pork and brisket going towards GC.

Day 1 Chicken, Ribs, Anything Butt
Day 2 Pork, Brisket, Dessert

Prizes
Trophies & GC receives a contribution towards an American competition (American Royal / Jack Daniels)

Places are limited for this event and its on a first come first served basis.
