Not going to post the team list, we have 12 teams at the moment, 6 old, 6 completely new. Been busy getting things ready, portacabin has just had a paint job (currently covered head to foot in emulsoon!), just got to replace another shower valve!!! and tap which exploded after being frozen. 12 x 6m marquee up for the grassroots, field has had its first hair cut, just got the check the electrics and replace the floodlight bulbs and will be pretty much there.

We currently have 15 teams sighned up and paid for Americana Q, having to expand our area as this was more than our intial capacity! Room for a couple more teams now.

Just wondering if it's still possible/a good idea to enter this, even though it's this weekend? Haven't really had enough practice, still haven't got my temperature control system, but should be a good learning experience?

It is still possible would just have to shuffle the teams around which isnt a problem. It is going to be a very chilled weekend without pressure and I will be teaching the grassroots teams throughout. I will email you the application if you decided to go for it however I will need to know sooner rather than later.

So what is the official start time of the competition?

When is hand-in for Anything But? Are there any rules for Anything But?

Meat inspection is carried out throughout Saturday whenever teams request it. There are no rules for anything butt, only that it must be cooked over wood or charcoal. Turnin will be sometime on Saturday, time will be decided after a discussion with the teams.

So is there an inspection for anything butt? Just wondering in terms of prep work for it whether it could be done in advance.

I will be competing in anything butt and I hope many others will be as well. It is also a great category for the newbie’s to enter as they can cook something that they are more familiar with. That’s if it is not the first time they have cooked a butt, brisket, or even ribs?

So, so looking forward to the weekend

Eddie
