Now this is a lot more complicated and is a question that has been debated furiously on this forum.
If doing low and slow I prefer briquettes and although it is hard for a Saffa such as myself to admit, Aussie Heat Beads are by far the best I've used. I buy mine online in boxes of 4 x 4kg bags. If you spend over a certain amount you get free delivery too which takes them to under £6/bag which is great value.
