Damaged vent cover on WSM

Postby CamandEve'sdad » 21 Feb 2011, 18:30

Hello all, just recieved my shiny new WSM but one of the bottom three vent covers is slightly bent and really loose compared to the others. Is there any way of tightening them, or should i just send it back?

Get in touch with the supplier immediately, weber are excellent at aftersales in my experience. Check the porcelain for chips also. Their main body has a limited 10 year warranty, it's worth noting any thing that may affect this.

I had a damaged lid, within two days I had a brand new replacement, with no chips at all.

Regards

Tell them that. I bought from World of Weber and they said, send us some photo's of the damage before you use it the feel free to use it as normal.

If it's one vent you should be ok to get a cook off of it easy.

It was all three vents that were buckled, one more so. Bought it from socal, guy was ok on the phone, asked me to email photos of the damaged parts (just done) and said they would send me a new bottom bowl rather than do the whole thing. Hope its here for Sunday, gonna Christen it with some wicked jerk chicken :D
