Do people with a weber kettle and maverick thermometer just run the probe cables through between the lid and the base or is there some sort of other solution which is favourable?

I used to run mine through the vent in the lid, just need to be careful when taking it off

I've just run mine between the base and the lid, I've done it for a while now and all okay, seal also still good .

I started running through lid but then bought some grommets and drilled holes for them. Pleased I did.

Through lid but I have to say I don't like doing it. Not been a prob so far though.

At the end of the day they are a consumable item.
