Good Wood Suppliers.

Postby arowe90 » 23 Aug 2015, 21:01

Hi all.
Pretty new to the whole smoking scene.
I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good wood supplier for smoking. As im not aware of prices but £100+ for 20kg of apple wood chunks seems abit steep! Unless thats reasonable?
Any advice and a point i the right direction would be a massive help! Cheers
:D

I don't live to far away from Paul so went and collected a box from him on the way home from work once. He's a very nice chap and the wood is top quality and he even give me a few pieces of different woods to try.

Hi

I would see if you can get a local landscape gardener or other on the job. I just rang a load locally out of the Yellow pages type on line thingy and got a full cherry tree, bout a tonne and a half for £60 from a local lad, just needs to be seasoned now :D

Paul Goulden is the boy though for chunks of all sorts of seasoned wood, I have had Orange, Olive woods etc. along with all of the normal oak and fruit wood, all bloody great and he is a top bloke too, doesn't even want paying until you have the wood can praise him enough! :)

Check out Anchor Logs in Gargrave. They have hardwoods and occasionally fruit woods.
