Out of interest , how much was a new drum?

Around £80 delivered...not the cheapest but it is heavy gauge and flawless.
If I remember rightly the stainless ones were £100 plus delivery and are tight head only which put me off a bit.
Next build will be stainless though.

smiths of dean in google will find them.

Wow that is steep. Surprised the SS was only another 20 quid. Defo would have gone for that.

If you think about it though - how much would a bespoke stainless steel smoker cost you? As it is, a good quality pressed steel one is £350+. You could make a jolly nice fully stainless one for £200 easy.

I got quoted over £250 for a new stainless one. If I could get one for £100 I'd be all over it!

Edit: - Just checked my email from Smiths of the Forest of Dean LTD. It was actually £350 for the new stainless!

paid a tenner for a once used unlined drum with separate lid and lid clamp from a guy on Ebay!
