BBQ Glossary for Beginners
I remember when I first started reading BBQ forums there were lots of terms that were alien to me. I thought it might be helpful to gather up a collection of these terms along with explanations so that people can easily tell their fatties from their moink balls.
So if you come across this thread feel free to add your term to it.
Cheers

Fatty
A fatty is basically an oversized, skinless sausage.
You'll often find them wrapped in bacon and or stuffed with a filling such as cheese, sausage or bacon.
An example fatty

Fatty lovers tend to get a little bit creative with their fatties. Two prime examples of this are Bacon Explosion and the heart stopping Porkgasm. Check these out at your own risk
At Royal Q we came up with the zen fatty:

Not nearly as heart-stopping as the porkgasm but we thought it was cool. This is a bacon-wrapped fatty stuffed with cheese, sweet chilli jam and a black and white pudding yin-yang (took ages to carve).
Cheers

Moink Ball
A moink ball is a most delicious thing, basically a meatball wrapped in bacon
moo + oink = moink.

Typically these are made with pre-cooked meatballs. You wrap them in unsmoked streaky bacon, securing with a cocktail stick. Smoke them for about 1 hour then glaze with BBQ sauce and continuing to smoke for 1/2 hour more.
Make sure you grab one as they come off the smoker because they never last long

Pork Butt + Picnic
You'll hear refernce to pork butts and picnics quite a lot. Both these are American style cuts of pork shoulder. If you're in the UK you'll likely find that you'll need to educate your butcher about these cuts because they're not that well known.
The Butt is the Boston Butt cut and it's the top part of the shoulder with the scapula intact.
The picnic is the lower part of the shoulder.
This part of the pig is often used for making sausage meat, but slow smoked for 12+ hours it makes fantastic pulled pork.
