Hey Toby,
Was I present when your Traeger passed away? I distinctly remember breaking out a first aid kit and fighting for its life at -4 one snowy night back in Dec 09.
I never realised that it was an untimely demise. I shall raise a glass to the Old Warrior.

I bought a landsman tennessee last year.
+ves:
Cheap
No need to extend stack - it's just about grate level.
-ves
Thin metal
On assembly there were big gaps between the firebox and the smoking chamber - a lot of silicon sealant was used closing them.
Doors fit very loosely - again sealant
grates are crap - burned away after a few smoking sessions.
I enjoyed what I produced on the Landsmann last summer - & learned a lot using it - but I'm making a UDS this summer & the Landsmann will be used for grilling only.
