Im sure clarified butter is the same as ghee.

Correct Ghee is commercially available clarified butter, I've only seen it in large quantities though so would do my own for small quantities.

I have ghee in the fridge for Asian recipes, it has a different flavour to clarified butter. Thinking about it, clarified butter won't work either because it is solid at room temp and needs to pass through a spritzer nozzle. Will order the imitation stuff off the Internet.

Sorry mate I just can't recall the name of it. It was a yellow colour and quite thick BUT NOT custard :D

I think the mutation butter you are talking about is the stuff they put on microwave popcorn. Prolonged exposure causes respiratory problems as found out by factory workers at micwve popcorn factories.
