Re: How Aaron Franklin trims brisket
It helps if you can see the meat before you buy.
These guys sell USDA brisket

It doesn't say it's Prime, but it probably is as we don't tend to import the cheaper stuff.
Also try these guys

The marbling on their Spanish beef is at least as good as USDA Prime.
British beef? Marbling much ...

Re: Bodeans Soho 7/11/09
Went to boedeans soho today. Doing a roaring trade.
Cocktails were good. Sierra Nevada at £5.50 excessive.
Buffalo wings were very soggy. Should be deep fried to order. I suspect they prepare long in advance and microwave, hence the sogginess. Not good.
Cornbread was quite nice.

Re: Perfect BBQ Shelter
I need such a thing to accommodate:
* wok burner
* BBQ(s)
The B&Q thing looks ok, but I bet it looks awful after a season or two outside.
Maybe I'll go have a visit to my local DIY shed. Not building anything myself....

Re: Hotpoint Wok fryer
Make one Steve.
Try and find an old gas cooker ring, you know the type, the old cast rings, looks like a doughnut with holes?
Attach to gas, stick on frame, add old Wok, Hey Presto one Discada.
Si
This is a better design, but not something you can buy in the UK easily

Re: Hotpoint Wok fryer
Have been using this a lot, now the weather/light is better.
Definitely worth buying, would highly recommend.

Lotus Grill
Not convinced by this:

Annoying lift music, the sausages look raw in the middle, the steak is burned and raw in the middle, the burgers are probably raw in the middle too, everything is burned.
They also promote it for use inside your home, which seems like a bad idea too.
