Re: Thermometer For Around £20 - Recommendations?
Do many of you cook with a thermometer in your meat and wait for the beeper to ring to inform you once the meat is cooked? Or do you tend to take your meat out of the oven to check it with a probe?

Thermometer For Around £20 - Recommendations?
I see that the Maverick ET732 and ETI Superfast Thermopen are highly recommended around here. However, at circa £40 and £50 respectively, they are a tad out of my budget. I'm looking to spend in the region of £20 for a digital thermometer which I can use on the grill and in the kitchen.

Re: New Gas BBQ - Master Chef Deluxe?
I took a punt and purchased a Master Cook Platinum 600 (MC-3) from this mail order company. I collected it myself and after a bit of bartering, got it for £300. Below is my mini-review which will hopefully be of some help to someone in my position in the future.

Re: New Gas BBQ - Master Chef Deluxe?
What you say is all true, especially the varying RRP on various sites (a bit like the RRP on TV sales channels) and the fact that there is no definitive manufacture behind the item.
However, at 58kg net weight and stainless steel all around, am I being naiive that the quality should be great and ...

Re: New Gas BBQ - Master Chef Deluxe?
Thanks for all of the VERY helpful replies fellas
. Another BBQ I have come across is the Master Cook MC-3 (Platinum 600). It's branded as a Royalcraft or Firefly on various websites and is supposedly a top seller on BarbecuesWorld, but does anyone have any experience with this manufacturer?

Re: New Gas BBQ - Master Chef Deluxe?
Thanks for the replies chaps. I would guess that no one here has used a 'Master Chef Deluxe' or 'Silver Steel', but wondered whether looking at those specifications, at least on paper do they look good? The general specification are:
4 Main Burners at 12000 BTU
1 Side Burner at 10000 BTU

New Gas BBQ On A Budget?
I would call myself a BBQ novice compared to you folks and would be sticking to gas for the time being due to its ease for a 'quick' cook during the week and weekends.
I have come across this Master Chef Deluxe (eBay link) barbecue. The description makes it all sound too good to be true, but what ...
