I tried a cheap Brisket the other week - just a rolled one from a Supermarket, and that ended up quite well. I'm doing a boston butt this weekend, maybe soon it's time for my first usda brisket!

You say you want to do serious cooking, so if you want space the Weber Smokey Mountain goes up to 57cm & is pretty massive, the ProQ elite I believe is about 50cm too. That'll set you back somewhere between £450 / £350 respectively.
