Thanks Tiny and essexsmoker. The bottom will protrude through the concrete, for sure. I hadn't thought about damage to the kettle - maybe some rockwool or a welders mat might be needed.

Setting a kettle in concrete
Hi there, I wonder if anyone has had any experience of directly setting a kettle into concrete? We're having a cooking area built currently, and I wanted to do something like this:
