Hi all
What's your advice if the meat ends up reaching the desired temperature way too early. Do I take it off and re-heat closer to the needed time? Do I drop the temp of the BBQ and leave in to keep warm? Do I just leave it carrying on at the slow cooking temperature?
Thanks

Re: Temperature probes
Thanks for all the assistance with my decision.
I ended up ordering the tp08. While I like the idea of charts and fancy stuff, at the end of the day I'm really only interested in 2 numbers and when they reach targets. So I really don't need the rest and the standalone unit will mean I don't have to ...

Re: Temperature probes
Thanks.
You really got me thinking there. While I prefer a stand alone unit, something like that would be way cheaper and provide all the functionality. I'd pretty much made my mind up and now I've started comparing again

Re: Temperature probes
I use a Thermopro and have been very pleased with it.
Had a look and they get good reviews on amazon (better than the maverick). At first thought "awesome", this is the one..... But then saw the different models can either do low temp alarm or high temp alarm, not both :(

Re: Temperature probes
Thanks. I'll have a look at it.
Just another question on the probes..... Surely, if you leave a probe in the meat, the metal shaft would transfer the heat down to the tip and interfere with the actual temperature of the meat?

Temperature probes
Hi there
I'm looking at getting a temperature probe and reading a post by Steve, he mentions the Maverick ET-73 as a good tool. I admit that I did have a mini heart attack when I saw the price over here in the UK. So, I was wondering what others are recommended? My palette isn't so refined that it ...

Hi there
Hi all
I've posted here a few times but realised that I actually haven't introduced myself.
So, without further ado...... hello!
I'm from South Africa originally so BBQ's ("braai's") are part of the culture. I never experienced much with low n slow, apart from some beer chickens. Most was just ...

Re: Charcoal smoke with minion method
Where are some places to get them from? I've given them a quick Google but didn't see any shops I recognise. I could order online but don't want to waste too much on postage for a bulky heavy item.
