Re: Any decent charcoal deals on at the moment?
For anybody that's not too fussy over charcoal The Range is clearing stock at £7.99 for 10kilo or £3.99 for 5 kilo.
Not bad lumpwood for the price, pretty standard stuff though.

Re: UDS - Recommendations for oil drum suppliers?
Around £80 delivered...not the cheapest but it is heavy gauge and flawless.
If I remember rightly the stainless ones were £100 plus delivery and are tight head only which put me off a bit.
Next build will be stainless though.
smiths of dean in google will find them.

Abandoned uds
A couple of months ago I embarked on a UDS build. I bought a barrel from a dealer on Amazon, which turned up no problem...except it had the dreaded liner..bugger.
After much web reading I deamed it better to get an unlined barrel ...which I did...brand new and unlined..cool.
I set about building my ...

Blow torch with 4 tins of gas from Amazon. Best thing i've ever bought...no more stinky fuel and the gas last ages.

Re: UDS chimneys?
My barrel came with removable lid that had both bungholes in..which i thought was odd but hey ho :D
Have a look on youtube for a guy called daddy cooks, you could do something like that.
4 x 1" holes 3/4 inch nipple with elbow bend.
I was gonna do that but seeing as i got a free bung hole i stuck ...
