Yes, my lid has always leaked. I got some some Nomex from here: https://wishboxusa.co.uk/products/high-temp-felt-grill-gasket-bge?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=googlepla&gclid=CO_Kw7S8g8sCFSsq0wodz94H5Q
I put it on the other week but haven't tested yet so can't say if it makes much difference. The lid ...

Re: Brisket -help please
I agree with GingerBen, get a Maverick to monitor grill temps. My DB always runs 20 - 30c hotter than what is displayed on the controller. I only thought to check this after my first couple of cooks were much quicker than they should have been. I assumed the controller on the GMG would be bang on ...

Re: Selling WSM to buy a GMG, am I mad?
I've had the DB for nearly two years now and wish I'd done some more research on alternatives before pulling the trigger. If given the choice now, I'd spent more and try to get a MAK Grills 2 Star or Yoder YS480 shipped here.

Re: First cook of 2015
Took Friday off to put up the marquee, collect the meat & prepare rubs, sauces etc.
Dry brined the butts during day then chucked them on the pellet grill around 11:30 pm. The GMG ticks away happily overnight on a full load of pellets but still found myself waking up and checking temps on the ...

Didn't know the Wi-Fi controllers were available yet in the UK, I'm jealous! Where did you get it from and how much was it?
Have you given it a test cook yet?

Problems with GMG DB
Are any other GMG owners having temp problems with their pit?
I got Daniel Boone in May and after a few cooks that turned out dry, tested the pit temp with my Maverick and found it was running 20 oC higher than what was on the display. Two controllers and a heat probe swap later I'm still having ...
