I don't visit this site much during the winter months as all my equipment is put away.
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere to get logs from and good quality charcoal for low and slow ...

Re: Some hot smoking advice required
Hello folks,
I'm sure I'm about the 1000th person to swing by asking for hot smoking help, so I apologise in advance.
I've decided to tinker with hot smoking and built a home made smoker out of a gas hob and galvanised bin (apologies to those who probably think thats the absolute worst way to ...

Digital Thermometer
Took the plunge and bought myself a weber smokey mountain...whey!
Was just wondering if anyone could recommend a digital thermometer to use with this smoker? I have an instant read one for the meat itself but I want to start reading temps within my smoker. (I don't trust the built in ones)
Cheers ...

Re: Riverside BBQ Centre?

Riverside BBQ Centre?
Ive found a weber smokey mountain on the above website for £225 and I am very tempted to purchase it. Has anyone used them before? Always a little unsure about new websites. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Weber Smokey Mountain 37cm
Hi all
so my birthday is vastly approaching and was going to treat myself to a pro q frontier as I feel an upgrade from my UDS is now required. However for the price I was wondering if paying the extra £50 for the 37cm WSM would be worth it?
I'd also like to know in food terms what this thing can ...

Re: Smoking with mesquite
hi dave
i have used mesquite in the past and found it to be a very strong smokey flavour. I think if you mix it with other woods it may over power them?
Just my thoughts on it.
I have since just used it straight for big cuts brisket, pork shoulder etc.

Hi all
I recently purchased a gorgeous piece of pork belly from a local butcher. Now pork belly isnt something i had cooked before so and i knew it was a fatty cut of meat and would require low and slow for it to be considered edible. So i trimmed off the majority of the fat cap and seasoned the ...
