Hello. I have the smokewear cap, got a from another forum member on here, fitted my egg perfectly but too small for his Joe. I've bought briquettes from the local kebab shop in the past when I got stuck over winter. Personally I always order online from BigK, they stock lump and briquettes all year round, yes you do have to pay for postage but I buy enough that it still works out cheaper

Lucky man having a ready source of hardwood!! You can use them dry, the bit about soaking them isn't really required, sometimes needed for chips as they are considerably smaller but even that's up for debate.

It makes a nice toy but in all honesty food doesn't taste much better than a good beer can chicken or properly grilled meat. Save your money for other things. Others may disagree and that's fine.

If it's at temperature and the pink is on the outside it's likely to be from the smoke from your fuel and any extra bits you add to create smoke.
