Guys, just a heads-up that competition area will be accessable from 4pm on friday the 17th. so if anybody is arriving before that time just let me know and we'll welcome you at the parking lot next to "Papa's Beachhouse"

Where are mate? There might be a local who can help out and you can compare similar smokers.
I don't have an offset so no idea about how it takes to use X kg of coals but maybe using fire rope around any door areas that leak smoke could help

Ok Guys, I have been using my offset smoker for over 3 years now, but recently found this forum, so I want to ask you a question.
Are those of you who are using an offset smoker, also experiencing extreem high coal usage? let me elaborate:

here's an aerial view of the terrain where the competition will be held.
as I'm helping out the organizer, they needed a grid lay-out of the ground, so I devided it up in 10x10 meters.
This should be more than enough to accomidate a camper/tent and smoker setup, not saying we'll go with a predefined ...
